Learn moreOur story
A locally run dumpster rental company based on Oglethorpe Avenue, serving Athens-Clarke County and the surrounding six-county area.

Kennet & Sons Dumpster Rental is a locally run dumpster company working out of a yard at 1165 Oglethorpe Ave on the west side of Athens, near Normaltown. We're owned by Robert Kennet, and the name on the trucks is the name of the family behind the business — not a franchise badge slapped on a call-center operation. When you call our number, you're reaching people who know the Athens area, not a national dispatch line reading from a script.
We started this company to do one thing well: get a dumpster to a driveway, job site or curb in the Athens area on time, at a straight price, and pick it up again without drama. Over several years of hauling in and around Athens-Clarke County, that focus hasn't changed. We run 10, 15, 20, 30 and 40-yard roll-off containers across residential cleanouts, construction sites, roofing tear-offs, storm debris and everything in between, and we cover the towns radiating out from Athens in every direction — Oconee County to the south, Barrow and Jackson County to the west and north, Madison County to the north and northeast, and Oglethorpe County to the east.
Athens itself is worth understanding if you're ordering a container here: Athens-Clarke County is a genuine consolidated city-county government, formed by an August 1990 referendum that merged the old City of Athens and Clarke County into one legal jurisdiction — Georgia's second such city-county unification and the 28th in the country, run by a single elected mayor and ten commissioners. That matters practically, because it means permitting and code questions inside the old city limits and the surrounding county run through the same unified government rather than two separate offices.
By the numbers
Figures are indicative of our current operation.
Kennet & Sons isn't a marketing name bought for a franchise territory — it's the family name behind the business, and owner Robert Kennet is still directly involved in how the company runs day to day. We're small enough that the person who answers your call knows the difference between a Watkinsville new-build site and a Hull farmhouse cleanout, and we plan deliveries around that kind of local detail instead of a one-size-fits-all national script.
We keep the process simple on purpose: you tell us the size and the job, we quote a flat rate that covers delivery, the rental period, pickup and disposal, and we schedule a drop-off window that works for your driveway or job site. Our driver places the container where you ask, we come back at the end of the rental (or sooner if you call), and the price doesn't move once it's set — no surprise fees added after the fact because a load turned out heavier than expected without warning you first.
The Georgia Piedmont around Athens gets real weather that generates real cleanup work: occasional winter ice storms that snap limbs and drop them on roofs, and spring and summer thunderstorms that bring hail and wind damage with almost no notice. We keep containers ready to move fast when a storm comes through. On the other end of the calendar, building season — new construction and remodel work — runs heaviest from late fall through spring, and we plan our fleet availability around that rhythm as much as around storm response.
Athens is home to the University of Georgia, and that drives a real, recurring seasonal workload we plan for every year: a wave of apartment and rental-house cleanouts around May move-out, and another wave of move-in prep in August. If you're a landlord, property manager or student clearing out a rental near campus during those windows, book early — that's our busiest stretch of the year in town.
Our home base is Athens-Clarke County, but our trucks run the full six-county footprint every week: the Oconee County cluster of Watkinsville, Bogart and Bishop just south of Athens; the Barrow County towns of Winder, Statham and Bethlehem to the west; the Jackson County towns of Commerce, Jefferson and Nicholson to the north; the Madison County towns of Danielsville, Comer, Hull and Colbert; and Lexington and Crawford in Oglethorpe County to the east. Whether you're on a tight in-town lot or down a long gravel driveway out past Comer, we've hauled that route before.
What we stand on
One flat rate covers delivery, the rental period, pickup and disposal. We tell you what drives the number — size, weight, distance, duration — instead of hiding it behind a quote you can't understand.
We know which Athens-area streets are tight, which subdivisions have HOA rules about where a container can sit, and which county offices to call about a right-of-way permit. That knowledge comes from actually working here.
We schedule a real window and show up in it. If weather or a job runs long, we call you before you have to call us.
Our driver places every container with your driveway, curb apron or job-site surface in mind, and we're upfront about protection options if you're worried about a concrete or asphalt surface.
Loads go where they're supposed to go, sorted and handled the right way, not dumped illegally to cut a corner.
This is a locally run, family-named company. If something goes wrong with your order, you're not stuck in a national call queue — you're talking to the people actually running the trucks.
Faces from the yard
Dispatch, drivers and the yard crew who actually run your job — the same faces whether you call on a Tuesday or a Saturday.

Service area
We run roll-off containers out of our 1165 Oglethorpe Ave yard to all seventeen communities we cover across greater Athens — Athens and Winterville close to the yard, and towns across Oconee, Barrow, Jackson, Madison and Oglethorpe counties farther out. Athens and the closest towns are usually same-day; the farther edges of the service area are next-day. If your town is not listed, call anyway. We likely still get there.
